Short Bio
Gabriella Pasi is Full Professor at the University of Milano-Bicocca, Department of Informatics, Systems, and Communication, where she leads the Information and Knowledge Representation, Retrieval, and Reasoning (IKR3) Laboratory.
Her research focuses on Natural Language Processing and Information Retrieval, with recent work on efficient language models, personal and context-aware Large and Small Language Models, and online disinformation.
Since 2023, she has been collaborating with the Italian news agency ANSA on issues related to information/disinformation and Artificial Intelligence. She has contributed to major national and European research projects.
She received the 2023 Outstanding Research Contributions Award from the Web Intelligence Consortium.
She is a Fellow of Academia Europaea, the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS), the Web Intelligence Academy, the International Academy of Artificial Intelligence Sciences (AAIS, formerly AAIA), and the International Fuzzy Systems Association (IFSA). She is also co-founder and co-director of the Milano ELLIS Unit.
