Rafael Peñaloza is an Associate Professor at the University of Milano-Bicocca / Department of Informatics, Systems, and Communication.
His main research interests revolve around knowledge representation and reasoning, and in particular in ways to represent and handle imperfect knowledge. This includes, but is not limited to the handling of uncertainty, vagueness, and inconsistencies.
Before moving to Milano, he spent four years as an Assistant Professor in Bolzano, and 10 years in Germany, where he obtained his Ph.D. working on topics related to Descriptions Logics.
In his free time, he likes to read and write. He is also known for taking way too many pictures of his son.
